February 1943)) has given permission to build an airport in VIJAYAPURA city to get more facilities.
The airport will be located on 727
acres of land in Buranapura & Madhubavi villages which is to come up 15 kelometre from
Vijayapura city Gandhi chowk circle point.
The Deputy Chief Minister GOVIND
.M. KARJOL said the first phase clearance has been given to start construction. The
total estimation is Rs/- 220/- crore for building an airport.
So in the first phase – The total
cost has been given Rs/– 95 Crore and its deadline is 18 months.
RUNWAY OF VIJAYAPURA / BIJAPUR AIRPORT
The runway of VIJAYAPURA
/BIJAPUR CITY will be constructed very nicely with the new technology method to
make to take off and land very easily without disturbing to passenger and also for
airplanes.
The total length of the runway will be 1700m. The full airport can be handled
about 200 passengers in peak hours once it is read. In the future, it will
be extended if any requirement comes to give more facility to passengers by (Boeing
737/Airbus A 320).

The ATR-72 TYPE
AIRCRAFT has the ability to give the total seat of passengers who are only 70 as GOVIND .M. KARJOL said.
In the second phase – The total
cost of Bijapur airport will be given Rs/- 125 Crore after the first phase complete. Terminal
buildings, taxiways & apron will be constructed.
As soon as the commercial operation will begin once the phase is ready.
This airport project is carrying the State Infrastructure Development with
The Karnataka State Industrial and Infrastructure Development Corporation
(KSIIDC) serving as the nodal agency. The state workers Dept. will be implemented
the project to build a new airport in Karnataka state.
As the government said once Vijayapura / Bijapur airport inaugurates, the
